These are the 7 steps to follow for washing your hands according to experts. The recommended time to wash your hands is at least 20 seconds, so make sure you have completed all the steps and take your time.
Step 1: Wet your hands
Step 2: Rub your hands together
Rub the palms of your hands in circular motions clockwise and counter clockwise.
Step 3: Rub the upper palm
With your fingers crossed on the other palm, use your right palm to rub the top of your left. Then change.
Step 4: Between your fingers
Join the palms and rub your palms and fingers together.
Step 5: Wash your fingers
Join the fingers of one hand and “hug” them with the other hand. Rub the back of the fingers on the palm of the other hand. Then change and repeat.
Step 6: Wash your thumbs
Grab the left thumb with the right hand and wash with rotary movements. Then change hands.
Step 7: Wash your fingertips
Rub the tips of the fingers of one hand into the “handful” of the other. Then change hands.
