| Smokey eye is flattering for most women and is ideal for evening looks. However, it does require a lot of experience and technique. If you are not an expert on make up but you would still like something more glamorous for the New Year’s Eve you can try this easy smokey eye. It only needs five steps to be complete.
You will only need two eye shadows one light and one dark colour, mascara and, if you want, a soft kohl eye pencil. 1. Start by applying the light eye shadow on the upper eye lid. You need to cover the complete surface reaching to the area where it meets the brow bone. |

| 2. Then apply the dark eye shadow on the upper eye lid starting from the outer corner of the eye. Depending on how intense you want the result to be, you can cover all the lid or blend towards the inner corner. Bear in mind that the intense smokey eye is more suitable to young women and needs attention otherwise the result might be far from flattering. If in doubt prefer a more discreet easy smokey eye. |  |
| 3. Using the brush apply the dark shadow on the lower eyelid. Try to keep the eye shadow as close as possible to the eyelashes. You will again start at the outer corner of the eye. Have a cotton bud handy, or, even better, a clean brush to clear any excess shadow. | |

4. If you want a more intense result you can apply soft kohl pencil in the eye. However, if your eyes are small this will not look good on you. 5. Complete the smokey eye by applying black mascara. You can apply two or as many layers as you prefer for a more intense look. |

| If your face is spoiled with eye shadow you can clean it with a big brush and a small amount of translucent mineral powder.
This make up technique is emphasizing on the eyes so avoid intense blushers and lipsticks. The best choice is a nude lipstick and a pale blusher.
